…for those of you who don’t know (all 2 of you, maybe) I am moving to Plainsboro, NJ on November 2nd.
I am moving mainly beause the Cubs failed to advance to the World Series and I am sick to death of hearing Tim McCarver talk. There’s no television in the middle of New Jersey and I’ll be happy to never have to hear exactly how long it’s been since the Cubs were in the series. Damn, I know it’s been since 1945. Everyone can stop talking about it.
No, kidding. As my dad says when people ask him why I’m moving: “The question is not ‘why is he moving?’; rather, it’s ‘what is her name?'”(it strikes me now that this might not translate so well to the net — let me explain by saying that my dad is intimating that there is no reason i would move to jersey other than for a girl, and well, he’s right)
Well, her name is Chia-Jung.
Over the next few days, I’ll be posting pictures (on chaoskid.com) from my various Chicagoland-goodbye-extravaganzas. And then, I’ll post pictures from my epic drive across the country to New Jersey. Following that, there will be photos of the move-in process. It’ll be exciting, and I invite you to check in.
(The posting of pictures, of course, assumes that Comcast actually hooks up my cable modem. The woman says they will. I’m of the mind that she was just pretending to be a Comcast rep. Time will tell.)

Jersey isnt bad at all actually tomorrow i head back out towards jersey, ill be right outside hunterdon county, not that ya know where that is yet but yea, good luck with the move and please keep in touch 🙂
Sure I know where Hunterdon County is. North Central Jersey. Just above Mercer County.
And of course I’ll be in touch. As long as I’ve got broadband, I’ll have XBL. Thanks, Kris. 🙂
Yeah, dude, you’d better be in touch, man. You’ll be closer to Casa de Fubar, so that beer will not have to wait much longer.
Hell yeah. I might actually have quite a bit of time on my hands the first weekend I’m there (Nov 7,8,9) so maybe, if any of my utilities are actually working, we can hook something up and go grab that beer.
(Funny how several people [not just you guys, and not just XBL people], whose only contact with me is through electronic media [XBL, email, AIM, etc], have told me to keep in touch following my move. Has my location ever really mattered in those situations? Certainly not… Unless they’re all just scared that Jersey will swallow me whole, which is perfectly understandable.)
but… but…
yeah. I knew you were leaving already and blah blah blah.
and I might even be in Jersey next spring (for the next Ubercon, which you might actually be interested in checking out)
but I still just can’t quite wrap my head around the possibility of visiting my folks in an Adam-less Evanston. Who will I be able to call for help escaping from them now?
Re: but… but…
I am leaving behind a life-sized Adam dummy which you are welcome to take to the park, to the movies, or ice-skating the next time you visit. 90% of users were unable to tell the difference between it and the real thing.
