“I don’t know art, but I know what I like…”<\/p>\n

I think I’m starting to define what I like by what I couldn’t personally reproduce. I’m not sure if this is a mistake or not, but I figure, more often than not, if I couldn’t have done it myself, then it must have taken some skill…not that skill necessarily = something I like. I recognize Monet’s skill but I hate his smeary-ass oil paintings a whole bunch.<\/p>\n

And on the other hand, I can’t stand it when someone says, “I could have done that.” in discounting someone else’s art. Although those thoughts just came to mind.<\/p>\n
